The Australian visa requirements are very strict and often misunderstood. Anyone who is not an Australian citizen needs a visit to get into the country.

If you are hoping to migrate to Australia on a permanent basis you must first of all meet the basic eligibility criteria and then meet the Australian Visa Requirements.

Australian Visa RequirenentsFor a straight forward holiday visa the Australian Visa Requirements are that you have a return ticket, enough money to support yourself during your stay as you cannot work and that you intend a genuine holiday. This visa is called an Electronic Travel Authority Visa (ETA) which is applied for online and can be obtained through the AMA website. This visa will enable you to stay in the country for up to 3 months.

Australian visa requirements for a Working Holiday are that you must be aged 18 to 30, single or married without children and plan to visit Australia for up to 12 months. This visa gives you the opportunity to take casual employment for up to 6 months of your stay. If you can meet these Australian visa requirements you can apply for a Working Holiday visa through the AMA website.
